We loved watching Love Comes Softly and are looking forward to seeing Loves Enduring Promise. It is so refreshing to see such wonderful entertainment. I so hope Michael Landon Jr. will continue to make movies of Janette Oke´s books.

Is there a yahoo group for fans of Jannette Oke and the Michael Landon Jr T.V movies Love Comes Softly and Loves enduring promise? I too want to see all the books made into movies by Michael Landon Jr. He did an awesome job and the actors and actresses did a fantastic job-especially Dale Midkiff he did an awesome job! It´s so wonderful to see such a beautiful christian book series make it to television! What an inspirational message to a hurting, lost world! I hope to see all the actors and actresses back in the next movie with more great actors/actresses added as well! Way to go Michael Landon Jr, your father must be so proud as our heavenly father is too! Karen

Janette Oke is my absolute favorite author! I am so glad that this series is being made into movies! It´s nice to see God´s design for love being featured in prime time! I so excited to see the rest of the series!

I read an interview with Michael Landon jr. and he said he is going to shoot 2 more movies this spring/ summer. If they are successful again he might do all 8 books.
I´m just reading the books and I love them!
And LCS and LEP are two of my absolutely favorite movies!

I loved the movie Love comes softly, it was an awesome movie. I totally recommend this movie to anyone who love to watch.
I watched it about 10 times and i still watch it. If you love to read Janette Oke´s books, than you will love this movie. I cried my eyes out for about an hour and a half after the movie was done and than after that i was fine. but that movie is sad, romatic, adventurous, humorous(comedy).
By the way does anyone know what the sequel to this movie is called.
Thanks.

We watched Love´s Enduring Promise on televison during Christmas, then the other day we were at Blockbuster and saw Love Comes Softly. We rented it, watched it, and really liked it. I´ve seen it twice now, but it has to go back today, so am looking to buy it. I´ll be so thrilled if they make the whole books series into movies. Well, worth the money to buy it. Good, wholesome, family, inspirational entertainment.

Written By Leigh on 2005-01-28 / 04:09:34
Love Comes Softly was an awesome movie. I laughed and cried through the whole thing. More movies need to be this wholesome and present the gospel. I bought it right before Christmas, and I have watched it so many times it will be worn out soon. I can´t wait until the next movie comes out.
I saw it on the Hallmark Channel and it was really good.

Written By Karla on 2004-11-29 / 00:29:48
What a great movie! I hope it is shown on TV several more times so that more people can see it. It models the kind of love, perserverance and committment that is so needed in our society today. It was completely refreshing and actually restored my hope that TV will not completely go down the drain with smut, violence and poor role modeling. There are a lot of us out here who want quality programming that has been through quality production with quality actors and actresses. Somebody in Hollywood please listen! We´re trying to raise girls and boys into ladies and gentlemen.
Written By Daniel on 2004-11-26 / 17:53:08
This film is a must see. It was so refreshing to see men and woman, an family values centered around the promises of our Amlighty God! I have seen no better film for dealing with tragedy as well as persistence in our walk in life. It is a great role model for kids, and where we need to be as adults.
Written By Mary Ellen on 2004-11-25 / 01:17:06
This is the best movie I have ever seen. I grew up on Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons, but I think it is even better than either one of them. I think our lives in America have come so far away from what this country was built on and it is so refreshing to see a Man of God and his family and the struggles they face and just don´t get a divorce and give up. We need more movies like this to show there are decent things and it is not all about sex and volience. Thank you Hallmark for bringing this movie to us. Michael Landon would be proud and I am sure God is proud also! I can´t get enough of Love Comes Softly and Loves Enduring Promise. Even my husband loves it!

What a fantastic movie. I loved the role of this godly man...he prayed...he worshipped....just wonderful! This is something rarely seen in movies made today. He was a strong, good man...definitely what people need to see. Men are not portrayed this way anymore, in television or movies.
Michael Landon would be so proud of this movie that his son directed.
Thank you Hallmark! I bought the movie at Walmart!!! It is GREAT!

I so agree with the many people who loved this movie! I, too, am so sick of "reality" TV. We have enough reality in the daily news. We need more movies like this to cheer us up. I didn´t know this was from a book and series. I am eagerly awaiting the second one. Keep it up Hallmark! I don´t get the Hallmark channel so I hope these will be aired on some other channels also.

I think this movie is terrific. I know it´s a chick flick mostly but I gotta tell ya, there´s something very real and refreshing about characters who realize they don´t have all the answers and humble themselves before the Lord. I´ll probably take flack over this but hey, it´s how I feel.

Wish I had the Hallmark Channel so I could tape it this month! I had been hoping for years to see Love Comes Softly made into a movie. I was so shocked when I saw it advertised. I am so glad they are already filming the second in the series. I wish they would make the Beverly Lewis Amish series next.

I am so excited. I haven´t been so entranced in a long time on a series. I love to read, but since I became a mother 14 years ago...and now have two children, reading has been put on the back burner. I happened upon the Love Comes Softly Series and am reading the 7th one now and have the 8th one ready to go! My kids are amazed that mom can read! Needless to say the laundry is piling up and the dishes are in the sink...but I am a happy camper. I cannot wait to see the video in the fall!!

According to Janette Oke´s web site, Love Comes Softly will be released to video in the Fall 2004. I missed it on tv and can´t wait to buy the video. I will keep checking the Hallmark Entertainment web site to see if it will be aired again (I don´t think I can wait until the Fall to see it!). There are 8 books in that series and I hope they make a movie out of every one.

can´t say enough about loves comes softly. It is a must see movie. From the music composition to the end of the movie it was just a pleasure to watch a holsom movie as this. I taped the movie and watch it at least once a day. Dale, Missie, and Marty did a wonderful job in their roles. Can´t wait to see part tgwso. I won´t read the second book because I want to be surprised. Every time I watch the movie it is just as spell binding as the first time. Hope there is a part three.

If you´re talking about the hymn, then the words are:
Come Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I´m fixed upon it,
Mount of God´s unchanging love.
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I´m come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I´m constrained to be!
Let that grace now like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here´s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.

I have been a fan of the Michael Landon shows since Bonanza, and I am so thankful that he has a son that has his gift of making movies with morals, and of the giving and gentle feelings that his father had. I have seen the movie, ´Loves Comes Softly´ three times, and would watch again and again. The characters are wonderful and beautiful, and the actors are great and make the movie such a wonderful experience. I definitely will purchase it, and any future ones. I am glad to hear there is another one coming. I will place it with great affection among my collection of ´Little House On The Paririe´ videos and CDs.

Hallmark will be releasing Love Comes Softly on DVD and VHS and it will be distributed by Fox...release date will probably be in the fall. Love´s Enduring Promise (the 2nd of Janette Oke´s books in the series) began filming this month and will be shown on the Hallmark channel in November as their "Thanksgiving" movie. Katherine Heigl and Dale Midkiff will be back in their roles as Clark and Marty Davis....

It was supposed to have been released on DVD LAST June, but it looks like it was an "unexpected hit" so Hallmark is milking that, I suppose. Never fails to amuse me when big companies are surprised by the general public supporting great film, such as this one and "The Passion." I don´t get the Hallmark channel, so just release it and put me out of my misery already!!!

Wonderful story protraying the good people who suffered the trials of settling the west...who grew in strength and character as a result...so beautifully told through soft and gentle words from the heart...but even more through the facial expressions of the characters. Deep, heartfelt moments were captured in those faces...giving, needing, sharing - honest emotion here...the actors were naturalsl Well done.

I love this movie too! I have read the entire series of books by Jannette Oke and would recommend them to anyone. Will there be a follow-up movie based on the next book or series? When will this movie be released on DVD?

That movie rocked!
I have honestly never cried before watching a movie!
Love comes softly is great!
My mom read the book as a kid and had just been talking to me about it a couple of days before we saw it for the first time on Hallmark!
Good job to everyone who had anything to do with the making and presenting of that movie!

I too would like to find this movie on dvd. It is a movie that touches your heart and brings God into the picture and lives of the people, where He should be. We need more of this kind of movie, where God is included. Thank you

What a pleasure and breath of fresh air it was to run across this lovely movie on a Sunday afternoon. Will watch the Hallmark channel more after viewing this movie and Straight from the Heart the same afternoon.
It just shows that you can make movies that are decent, wholesome, and have good spiritual values and still be entertaining.
Thank you Hallmark.
