This is a fantastic movie. There are several messages that can be taken from this movie, they are simple messages but their meanings are profound. You may love it or hate it but you won´t forget it any time soon.
Arrogance comes in many forms. Leaving people to their own devices and forgiving them for just about anything is arrogance, imposing your morals on others is arrogance, lording yourself as king over others is arrogance. If you are big and mighty be careful, if you are small and timid, be ever more careful. Don´t appoint yourself as the moral guardian when you know you don´t have enough strength to stand up for what you believe in when push comes to shove. So many things to be gotten from this movie.
The acting was brlliant with Kidman proving once again that she is more of an actress than she is given credit for. She made her Grace small when she needed to be despite towering above the cast and made her even taller when her character needs to be.
Fantastic work Lars and thanks for the apple truck scene, just beautiful.
